About

Sat Nam, my name is Hari Datti Kaur, which translates to “The Lioness Who is God’s Giver.”  I believe that to be a good teacher, one must be continuously engaged in learning.

I first experienced yoga in the early 80’s.  At the time, it was my only relief from the stress of studying, working and teaching from sun-up to sundown in a difficult grad school program.  I’ll be forever grateful to Cherry Darriau, who first planted the seed of awakening.  Like many people I practiced only intermittently for many years, whenever I visited a town where there were yoga studios.  You wouldn’t know it today, but it was difficult to find yoga classes in Indianapolis during the 80’s and much of the 90’s.

In 1999 I began studying Vinyasa yoga.  Then in 2002, Mahan Kalpa Singh brought Kundalini yoga to my workplace.  After the first class I was hooked!  Even though it felt a bit “weird” – the benefits were occurring immediately.  Kundalini answered a nagging question; I’d heard that there was a spiritual component to yoga, but I hadn’t found/felt that thus far. As a musician, I appreciated the enormous influence of the sound current (Naad) that is integral to this type of yoga.

After two years of study, I trained at the last “Master’s Touch” Intensive.  I’ve continued to learn and grow with this amazing technology, and now am bringing teacher training to Indianapolis to grow our community!

Light to All, Love to All, Peace to All!
